Holmes, Jack

Above Ground Sound Of

"The Above Ground Sound of Jake Holmes" is the debut album by American singer-songwriter Jake Holmes, released in 1967, and stands as a significant example of psychedelic folk-rock from the second half of the 1960s. The album has a minimalist and unusual sound: the songs are built primarily around vocals, two electric guitars and bass, with no drums, creating an intimate, ethereal and almost hypnotic atmosphere. It includes the original "Dazed and Confused" song, best known in the Led Zeppelin's version.
