Shape of the New Sun was formed in a rehearsal studio in September 2014. The idea was to meet and "jam". But already at the first "jam" the first song was written. Shape of the New Sun is four musicians from the small town of Skara in Sweden. The four have played music ever since the early teens. Thomas Kihlberg (song / guitar) has released several albums with the Swedish bands Orchid and Animan. Tomas Persic (drums) played in the successful pop / rock band "Lambretta" in the early 2000s. They had great success and were high on the Swedish top lists. The idea of forming Shape of the New Sun was born at a festival in the summer of 2014. There Ivan (Guitar) and Tomas Persic met their old friend Thomas Kihlberg. And since September, Shape of the New Sun was complete when Hakan Holmstrom (bass guitar) joined. In January 2016, the band entered the studio for the first time and recorded debutsingel "Something Beautiful / Babylon". The single was released in February 2016. These two songs led to a record contract with the Danish record company "Lions Pride Music". The recording of the debut album began in autumn 2016 and was completed during Easter Week 2017
