JEFF HERSHEY & THE HEARTBEATS are a soul revival band, not too unlike THE INCITERS. The style of soul played on ,Soul Music Vol. 1" is heavily infl uenced by the likes of SAM COOKE and OTIS REDDING. The songs are high energy with a full horn section and a great vocalist in JEFF HERSHEY. HERSHEY was born to sing soul music and THE HEARTBEATS are an excellent backing band. As good as ,Soul Music Vol. 1" is, I have a feeling that this band is even better live. If you are a fan of great soul music like WILSON PICKETT, SAM & DAVE, OTIS REDDING and SAM COOKE or soul revival acts like THE INCITERS or THE PIETASTERS, you should check out this release
