Rill, Markus -& The Troublemakers-
Everything We Wanted
25 years after his debut album, MARKUS RILL releases Everything We Wanted, an album that brings together all of his strengths: deep, diverse Americana songs, gripping rock'n'roll and rousing soul with intelligent, touching lyrics. The 14th album is indeed a highlight and culmination in the work of the singer-songwriter with the hoarfrost voice. In Germany, probably in the whole of Europe, there is no one closer to Steve Earle, John Hiatt, Mellencamp, Tom Petty, no one who does his roots rock thing more authentically than the 51-year-old native of Frankfurt. The album is a big hit. It contains everything that Rill learned during his time in Austin, Texas, on three studio productions in Nashville, at concerts with Townes van Zandt, Rosanne Cash and Southside Johnny and at around 1000 gigs in bars, clubs and on big stages. Outstanding songs, varied sounds, great performances. Everything We Wanted is to Markus Rill & The Troublemakers what "Wildflowers" was to Tom Petty.
