They say the deepest darkness appears just before dawn. It was in such a dense and impenetrable darkness that Lake of Tears must have been born. And their debut album is immersed in this darkness. It was baptized "Greater Art" and indeed the title sets the tone for what was to follow. Yes, it is a higher art, it was and is something different. Although there are influences from other Swedish bands of the time, such as Tiamat, or even death metal elements, what is certain is that their doom metal brought to the fore something new, fresh and completely innovative.
