Perhaps the most amazing experience we ever had in the Smoked Recordings studio was recording Kamal Hors, a gifted Morroccan Ud player and his percussionist, Sandip Battychara on tabla, playing this stuff live together. The exquisite and immediate perfection of synergy that these two guys playing together had, blending Arabic, central Asian and Indian influences into beautiful sounding atmospheric in-the-moment instrumentals. We will never forget how quickly it went to tape and how blown away we were and still are by it. One of the high points of the Smoked catalogue!
