Inspired by a musical spectrum ranging from The Skatalites to Etta James to Manu Chao, the Berlin band has set out to delight your hearts, comfort your souls, and, of course, get your feet moving with their special soulful ska fusion. The seven musicians from Dresden and Berlin have known each other for many years; together they were and are active in the bands Mola (Soul & Funk) and Yellow Cap (Ska & Rocksteady). The enthusiastic Yellow Cap singer convinced the six other musicians of his vision of an "Early Reggae & Rocksteady" band, initially focusing exclusively on Jamaican and British cover songs from the '60s and '70s. And it's about time Tighten Up impressed with their extremely danceable and energetic music, reawakening a long-forgotten era. 300 copies worldwide, classic black 180g vinyl, hand-numbered.
