Cavallone: Miroirs D'esquisses - Flute Works
Miroirs desquisses gathers Paolo Cavallones flute pages from 2008 to 2024, where music and language mirror one another as fragments of a single notebook. The opening, Copioni, lets poetry seep into sound through a whispered voice and the composers piano: a prologue of lucid unease. Metamorphosis is the guiding idea, between memory and mutation, with glances towards Ovid and the Song of Songs. In the title piece, guided improvisation germinates from B-A-C-H/ Polimorfie transforms Chopins Prelude No. 4 in E minor into nine variations, an antechamber to the concerto Hros, where the boundary becomes mobile space. Between cellular mosaics such as Esquisses dautomne and temporal thresholds like Au rveil il tait midi, solos, duos and concertante pages lead to the double concerto Metamorfosi damore.
