"Il canto della sirena" ("The Song of the Siren") draws on the myth of the sirens alluring call to celebrate the eternal enchantment of the human voice. The program spans vocal traditions from Naples to Paris, juxtaposing passionate Neapolitan songs by Tosti and di Capua with refined French melodies by Rossini and Ravel, and culminating in the famous Vocalises by Ravel and Rachmaninov. Pianist-composer Marco Sollini also contributes original works, including one dedicated to soprano Valentina Varriale. With songs performed in Neapolitan dialect, Italian, French, and even wordless vocalises, the album highlights the voices expressive versatility.
