Troublemakers
Doubts & Convictions
Remastered reissue of the downbeat electronica-soul-jazz masterpiece "Doubts & Convictions" by French multi-instrumentalists, producers, and DJs Troublemakers as a double LP on B!zzy Records. In the vibrant Marseille electronic music scene of the 1990s, Fred Berthet, Lionel Corsini (DJ Oil), and Arnaud Taillefer (East) met and, as Troublemakers, pursued their shared interest in DJ styles, electronic music, funk, jazz, soul, and sampling. Their iconic debut album, "Doubts & Convictions," was released in 2001 on the Chicago label Guidance Recordings and garnered worldwide acclaim. The eleven tracks, based on downbeat, electronica, and drum and bass, beautifully and atmospherically blend fragments of soul, jazz, and funk from the 1960s and 70s with library music and film score samples. Although Troublemakers were heavily inspired by the vibrant French scene, international acclaim far surpassed their reception in their home country. Now, this milestone of electronic music is finally available again!
