Tribute
Live-the Memory, The Beat, The Heart
The Swedish symphonic rockband Tribute was founded 1982 by the two musicians/composers Gideon Andersson and Josef (formerly Christer) Rhedin. The band created four albums - "New Views", "Breaking Barriers", "Live" and "Terra Incognita". "New Views" was the first album and was the one that gave the group their breakthrough in Germany and Sweden in the middle of the nineteen eighties. Tribute toured continuously between 1983 and 1986, and established a large following among the symphonic/progressive rock lovers. Tribute's music is mostly instrumental. It is focused on rhythm, intricate riffs and melodies. In the orchestration there is plenty of classical percussion, such as tubular bells, vibraphone, marimba and timpani. There is also a strong impact from the keyboard section mastered by Josef Rhedin. Another significant aspect of Tribute is that all musicians were multi-instrumentalists, which made a significant impression on their audience
