Tongue Action
Tongue Action (red/black Splatter)
Colorado's Tongue Action is a high-energy collision of '70s punk attitude, '80s sleaze metal grit, and dangerous, no-nonsense rock 'n' roll. The heart of the band is Pablo Ono, whose extensive pedigree includes stints in such groups as Electric Frankenstein, Killer Hearts, The Guillotines, Shit City High, and BlackNovas. Having just released a debut 7" earlier this year on Sioux Records, Tongue Action lost no momentum in whipping together a high-octane batch of tunes for their new self-titled LP on Heavy Medication Records. Built on sweat, volume, and Ono's infectious songs, Tongue Action deliver relentless, guitar-driven rock action drawing from a melting pot of influences. Storming opener "Kill City Riot" sounds like Lords of the New Church if they veered toward sleaze metal. "Emily Baby" could have been a lost Celibate Rifles track. "Oh Beast!" marriess T. Rex-ish menace to headbanging arena rock. And anthemic album closer "Wild Nights/Wild Rose" takes a few pages out of the Slade playbook to churn out a stompin', fist-in-air, bovver rocker with killer sax! This is pure rock 'n' roll. This is Tongue Action. FFO: The Ravagers and Killer Hearts (In fact, members of the Killer Hearts play on 5 of the tracks!)
