Throsby, Holly
A Loud Call
The third album by Holly Throsby. Originally released in 2008 by Spunk records. Featuring the track "Would You?" (featuring Bonnie Prince Billy). Holly Throsby's lyrical, beautifully wrought, musical catalog would include previously CD-only albums two, three, and four - "Under the Town", "A Loud Call", and "Team". Now all available on wonderful vinyl via Hobbledehoy. Throsby has toured extensively both internationally and in Australia, with artists including Joanna Newsom, Paul Kelly, Sun Kil Moon, Devendra Banhart, and The Tallest Man on Earth. A songwriter, musician and novelist. Holly Throsby is the author of three books and has released five solo albums, a collection of original children's songs, and two records as part of the band, Seeker Lover Keeper. Throsby's early records unsurprisingly still carry the restraint of a writer's ear. An intimate rawness, regardless of full-band or solo guitar, so close that you cannot shake the sense their music was made just for you. There's pain, gleeful splashes of happiness, and laced with a clear but never over-stated sadness.
