The Beauty in the Ruin is the third CD by the Austin TX based "wanderlusty" singer-songwriter Abi Tapia. Produced by former Jimmie Dale Gilmore bandleader and multi-instrumentalist Chris Gage, the music is invitingly full of sing-able hooks and straddles country, folk, and rock with ease, incorporating fiddle, dobro and pedal steel along with crunchy electric guitars and grooving rhythms. Tapias songwriting and voice are unique yet accessible, showcasing her knack with a hook and ability to universalize her experience. The Beauty in the Ruin explores sadness and frustration, but is never maudlin and always hopeful.
