Sunny, Al
My Love (remixes)
4-Track 12" Vinyl with four Remixes of Al Sunnys "My Love" - limited Edition on Légère Recordings French soul scene stalwart (and sometime Favorite Recordings regular) Al Sunny landed on Legere Recordings last year with third album Summer End. 'My Love' was one of the highlights of that set - a relaxed and jazzy chunk of wide-eyed, loved-up loveliness - and here gets reframed for the dancefloor. French deep house and disco don Art of Tones handles side A, stretching out and thickening Sunny's original groove to turn it into a tropical-tinged chunk of low-slung, dancefloor ready Balearic disco-soul. Over on side B, Hugo LX delivers a lightly funk-flecked deep house dub rich in jazzy bass guitar, propulsive handclaps and ambient chords, before Jared does a good job in updating 'French Touch' house for a new generation - all weighty disco-house drums, heady jazz guitar solos, MK style organ licks and dewy-eyed vocal samples.
