This album includes two series of piano works by Italian composer Paolo Ugoletti, who studied with composers such as Giancarlo Facchinetti, Franco Donatoni, and Giacomo Manzoni. His Winter Thoughts (2014) represent a wide variety of musical genres, forms, and styles, evoking some great models from the musical past. The Six Waltzes, dedicated to the composers mother, play wittingly with words that rhyme in Italian and which characterize pronouncedly their musical personalities.
