St. John, Jeff -'s Copperwine-
Joint Effort
A vinyl-reissue of a unique LP from 1971. Quite unlike most Australian bands at the time, Jeff St. John's Copperwine focused on no particular genre. On the album, produced by Pat Aulton, the band is augmented by a clutch of Australian music luminaries, including John Sangster (vibes and glockenspiel), Billy Thorpe (harmonica) and Doug Ashdown (12 string and dobro guitar). Jeff St. John would go on to keep exploring the musical spectrum with other projects, both solo and band wise. He even sang the national anthem at the opening of the 2000 Sydney Olympics. (Whether that was a highlight in his career, we're not sure, but he definitely was in the spotlights.)
