Sick Hyenas
Heaven For A While
After releasing their debut EP on limited cassettes, their debut album via Moody Monkey Records and an exclusive 7" Tour Single on french record label Six Tonnes De Chair the Hamburg trio now put out the second album 'Heaven For A While'. After roaming through the European music scene, with a D.I.Y. sprit that brought the band from Germany, over France, to Switzerland, up to the UK and Denmark. Playing shows big and small, basements, bars, clubs, art galleries and whatever is big enough to set up a drum kit and two guitar amps. This album is a portrait of Sick Hyenas' musical journey from their first album until now. The title relates first to the books of Aldous Huxley, where he describes the influences of psychedelic drugs to the human body. Second its the ,Heaven" you see/feel when youre on tour. 'Heaven For A While' is a summary of Sick Hyenas musical journey from their first album until now, their memories and experiences were flowing into the new songs. A very unique garage sound between surf, psychedelic and 60s/70s rock, a mixture of bands like The Cramps, Gun Club, Velvet Underground, Night Beats or the Black Lips. Like seeing a show in a smokey whiskey bar or being part of a 'Spaghetti-Western' by Tarantino."
