Shoot Shorter
Pure Rock Intox
The annals of Belgian heavy music history are being rewritten with the first-ever CD release of "Pure Rock Intox," the definitive studio recording by Liège-based quintet SHOOT SHORTER. Formed in mid-1989, the group represented a powerful reunion of creative forces, led by guitarist Rudi Vandenbossche and vocalist Steve Shorter, both veteran members of the legendary Belgian metal outfit FN GUNS. While the project initially took shape on the local circuit as a high-energy cover act, the undeniable chemistry between the members soon pivoted the band toward a professional path of original composition and full-time dedication. By early 1992, following a series of commanding live performances in their hometown, SHOOT SHORTER entered the studio to capture their signature sound. The resulting album, "Pure Rock Intox," masterfully maintained the sonic architecture established during their tenure with FN GUNS, delivering a sophisticated blend of hard n' heavy music built upon straightforward, driving riffs and meticulously crafted vocal harmonies. Despite its quality and the pedigree of its members, the album was originally only available as a limited cassette release, leaving it as a coveted mystery for fans of the genre for over three decades.
