Mudgang, The
This Time
"This Time" is the new album from Ghent (garage) rock prodigy The Mudgang. With their brand-new album, which features a variety of musical styles, the lyrics are about more than just "driving, chasing women, and selling souls." Themes like hypocrisy, suicide, dementia, senseless street violence, social isolation, and rebellion are not shied away from. Musically, there's much to discover. They play music ranging from raw surf and mod soul to post-punk and rockabilly, country gospel, and psychedelic music, without ever losing their individuality. Featuring several excellent vocal contributions from Ghent soul prodigy Tom Derie (Soapstone Ultrasonic, Stoneson) and Ghent's Reena Riot, Naomi Sijmons. "Never boring" isn't just a quote for The Mudgang. It's a way of life and making music. Everything was written, composed and performed by Luc Van den berghe, Kurt De Waele, Jo De Bondt & Steven Janssens except "Goddamn" (the late Kurt Van Peteghem's Sticky Monster), "The Fire Of Love" (known from The Gun Club).
