Lynx Ensemble
Through The Looking Glass
Lynx Ensemble is a musical project that brings together Baroque and folk musicians in a unique chamber music constellation of traditional and historical instruments. The group explores Swedish folk music whose roots go back to the 17th and 18th centuries, reimagining traditional tunes as elaborate pieces of folk-chamber music. Inspired by Lewis Carroll's "Through the Looking Glass", this album offers a series of twisted reflections, placing the music of celebrated Swedish fiddlers in front of a galant mirror. Traditional tunes after Hjorth Anders, Hultklappen, Viksta Lasse and more are recast as church and chamber music pieces in the styles of J. S. Bach, Telemann, and Chopin in an exciting, uncanny musical journey.
