Groovie Ghoulies
Go! Stories
Originally released in 2002, Go! Stories is the 7th studio album from California pop punk legends Groovie Ghoulies. The Sacramento trio went back to basics on this one and came out with one of the most upbeat, hook-heavy records of their career. The Ghoulies were famous for their obsession with B-movie monsters and other creepy crawly characters, but Go! Stories largely puts the creature features aside for something more personal. It's mostly monster-free and full of good feelings, a fired-up "keep going" record from a band that had been through label changes, lineup shuffles and many years of relentless touring. "Mess Me Up," "School Is In," and the anthem "'Til Death Do Us Party" deliver Kepi's trademark mix of Ramones buzz, '60s bubblegum melody and pure joy. It's two-minute pop punk at its finest. Go! Stories has been out of print for more than 20 years, but is back now featuring brand new artwork by Tom Neely.
