Ensemble Alraune
Beethoven & Fellows
The italian Ensemble Alraune is exploring the repertoire of the late Classicism and early Romanticism on original instruments. In this recording Mario Sollazzo plays two differents keyboard instruments (an original Schantz Fortepiano and a copy of a Graf Fortepiano) in different combinations with Viola solo and as trio with Clarinet and Cello, with Tommaso Lonquich on historical clarinet, Stefano Zanobini on Viola and Augusto Gasbarri on Cello. The connection between the young Beethoven and his friends and fellows Hummel and the Archduke of Austria is a good occasion to hear some rare compositions in an outstanding chamber music recording on original instruments: the original transcription of the Beethoven op.8 for Viola and Fortepiano, the Viola Sonata by Hummel and the incredible Trio by the Archduke of Austria.
