Le Temps D'erard: Music On Original Erard Instruments
The Maison rard, one of the most famous names among harp and piano makers, was active over a period of more than a century and a half, filing no less than thirty patents for the piano and thirteen for the harp. The pieces on this recording project are performed according to historically informed performance practice and have been chosen on the basis of the instruments used, and the period of their construction: harp no. 3408 in style Louis XVI très riche from 1908 and grand piano no. 78054 modèle rduit from 1898. This album features works by Liszt (Sposalizio, in an original arrangement by Duo Cord performing here), John Thomas (Grand Duet), Paul Bazelaire (Fantasiestop. 87, in a world premiere recording), Georges Migot (Prlude à deux) and Joaquin Turina (Tema y variaciones op. 100).
