Downbeat 5
Victory Motel
Victory Motel is a gritty, powerful, no-frills rock n roll rampage that has no boundaries. Taking cues from 60s Beat and Soul, Girl Group Sounds, and 70s inspired Punk and Garage, the Downbeat 5 create their own wall of sound. Its built from foot-stomping beats, three-part harmonies and JJ's ripping lead guitar riffs accenting Jennifers sensual vocal screams, and a primal rhythm section featuring Mike Yocco on bass and Eric Almquist on drums. The record was mixed by Paul Q. Kolderie, who has worked with Blondie, Radiohead, Hole, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, The Lemonheads and the Goo Goo Dolls, as well as many other bands. JJ Rassler was a founding member of the legendary DMZ as well as a former member, session guitarist and vocalist, songwriter and producer for the infamous punk band the Queers.
