Dikke Dennis & De Rockers
Kop En Schouders
Head and Shoulders is the debut album by Dikke Dennis & de Rockers. The band turned to the studio with Peter van Elderen (Peter Pan Speedrock) at the end of 2025 and hammered out everything in a day and a half. The result is a real sledgehammer. It's also a very personal record for Dennis. Lyrically, it largely deals with what's happened in his life over the past year (Wilde Nacht, Hallucinaties, Ik Ben Je Vriend Niet). A somewhat exaggerated memory of his tattoo shop. Or was it a nightmare? (Tattoo 666). An ode to his second favorite hobby, snacking (Friet Of Patat). The not-always-easy existence of being a lust object (Vrouwenmagneet) and the struggle he has to get through the week after a grueling weekend (Weekend). The instrumental banger "Asjemenou" (the whole band is a Loeki de Leeuw fan) is a reworking of "Phantasmo," a song by psychobilly giants Asmodeus, guitarist Diamnd Dim's former band. Dikke Dennis & de Rockers are trendsetters. A song should come from the heart, you have to feel it in your gut, and it should stay in your head. They certainly succeeded with "Kop en Schouders" (Head and Shoulders). This album is pressed on 180 grams vinyl.
