This Da Vinci Classics album is the second volume of Fernando De Lucas recording of Handels complete keyboard works, and it includes some multi-movement works (such as Suites HWV 448, 449 and 445 and Partitas HWV 444 and 454) along with shorter individual pieces. Several of these works are found in a publication of 1733, when Handel offered some of his youthful keyboard works to the public, following the success of another publication of 1720. In the quick movements we find the bubbling energy and enthralling liveliness of Handels joie de vivre, whilst the slower movements frequently display a touching intensity of feeling and expression. This recording project demonstrates the variety and the nuances of Handels creative power and fantasy, along with the exceptional artistic worth of these works, which deserve to be more frequently played and listened to.
