Dawn Of A Dark Age
Transumanza
Thinking about the union between transhumance, and the use of the clarinet within extreme music, might seem unreal, but Vittorio was able to create something great indeed. Talented Jazz musician, Vittorio Sabelli manages to combine the iconoclastic fury of Avantgarde Black Metal with the refinement and experimentation of the clarinet sound which becomes the main protagonist of a work that emerges from the ancient popular roots of Folk music to predominantly contaminate itself with the elements of Extreme Metal. The dark and menacing timbre of the instrument combined with ferocious blast-beats and distorted guitars, opens the door to new scenarios: moments of pure madness bordering on free jazz alternate and blend with folk passages and settings that touch dreamy landscapes. In every moment there is always the sensation of taking a sort of emotional journey that leads the listener to know the most intimate author's universe, a journey made of music, popular culture, tradition and avant-garde charm to tell stories from other times. A must for fans of Agalloch, Wolves In The Throne Room, Myrkur, Saor, White Ward.
