Chameleons Uk
Arctic Moon (violet/andromeda)
"Arctic Moon" is The Chameleons' first studio album in 24 years and their first with the current lineup. It features seven previously unreleased tracks, including the single "Saviours Are A Dangerous Thing," a new version of "Where Are You?" (2024), and longer songs like the epic "David Bowie Takes My Hand." While it marks a departure from the sound of their previous albums, "Arctic Moon" remains rooted in the same emotional depth, spirit, and intensity that has always characterized their work. "There's an obvious maturity in the songwriting on this album, and anyone familiar with our past work will understand that this is a positive step forward," said bassist and vocalist Vox (Mark Burgess). "While we're proud of the band's legacy, we really wanted to create something new, while still retaining the deep, imaginative quality we're known for. We think we've achieved that and made a very strong album!" The Guardian reports that "the twisted angst and integrity of Manchester's quintessential cult band remains intact."
