Autumnfall
The Archaic Sins
Autumnfall was formed in Finland in 2019 by Jussi Hänninen, who is best known for his work as the primary songwriter of Fall of the Leafe from 1996 to 2007. Therefore, it's fair to regard Autumnfall as a successor to Fall of the Leafe's early work. Joined by Tero Ruohonen (who also collaborates with Hänninen on The Bleak Picture) as vocalist, Autumnfall first two albums, "Ghosts of Light" (2021) and "Bleak" (2022), were initially self-released and later remastered and reissued on CD by Ardua Music. Both albums consisted primarily of new material, but for the third album, "The Archaic Shadows", the band decided to revisit and re-record old Fall of the Leafe material written between 1997 and 2000. One completely new track was added to the mix, and the album was released by Sacrifire Productions in 2024 and distributed by Ardua Music. In 2026, a new alliance between band and label will see a new album entitled "The Archaic Sins" released next September 25th, continuing along the path carved out by its predecessor. Featuring only one completely new track, the album consists mainly of material written between 1998 and 2001. Call it Melodic Extreme Metal, Dark Metal, or whatever; Autumnfall is something you won't hear elsewhere.
