This recording is hailed by the niece and nephew of the composer, Goffredo Petrassi, as a milestone in the reception of their uncles work. Petrassi loved the "songs of the countryside", which he collected with a musicologists rigour and an artists passion. Petrassis heirs emphasize "the importance of this release that brings attention the Songs of the Roman Countryside", and the performers attention to the composers lesser-known works. Crowning the musicians enterprise, Petrassis heirs made available a recently discovered, and still unpublished piece, which is recorded here in world premiere.
