Aaltonen, Juhani & Raoul Bjorkenheim
Nostalgia
Juhani Aaltonen is a living legend of Finnish jazz music, a true icon of free improvisation, whose soulful playing spans a respectable six decades. Known as a tenor saxophonist and flutist, Aaltonen, nicknamed Junnu, focuses on flutes in his collaboration with Raoul Bjorkenheim and creates a lyrical musical world with his friend. Bjorkenheim paints colorful sounds into their joint musical world with his 6-12 string double-neck electric guitar. Their ESP-style communication enables them to create new songs on the fly, which they utilize in their compositions.
