12 Step Rebels
The Darkness Calls Us All
12 Step Rebels' "The Darkness Calls Us All" is their first full length album since 2004. Its content revolves around the darkness we all face, covering themes from death and loss to depression, folklore, and dark history. It is a haunting and dark but melodic album in their typical americana tinged punk rock/psychobilly. It is a step forward in their musical evolution while retaining the core of the sound that defined them. Since 2000, 12 Step Rebels have concocted a haunting blend of Americana, Punk Rock, and Psychobilly. Shortly after their first release titled Mutilated Melodies, the trio found themselves on their first US tour supporting psychobilly legends, Mad Sin. Shortly thereafter, 12 Step Rebels recorded their second release, "Go Go Graveyard Rockin' with 12 Step Rebels", produced by Geoff Kresge (AFI, Tiger Army, Viva Hate, Horror Pops, FEAR), with a track featured on Hellcat Records "Give 'em the Boot 4" compilation and released on Dead Body Wreckerds. The album saw a frenzy of sales boosting the band back onto the road, again touring nationally in support of Tiger Army's "Dark Romance" tour and shortly after that, Hellcat Records' "Punks vs Psychos" tour, featuring 12 Step Rebels alongside Tiger Army, The Business, Roger Miret and the Disasters, and the Street Dogs. Continued full time touring saw the trio share stages across the United States with many of punk rock and psychobilly's most iconic acts until the band announced a hiatus from life on the road. With the 2020 return of bassist Nate Hancock, the band is now back together with the original lineup that made 12 Step Rebels the iconic powerhouse that it is today, playing harder than ever with resumed touring and new recordings.
