The 70's were especially savage for Larry, being involved again in several drug cases, hooking on cocaine and heroin and attempting to murder his old friend Little Richard due to some drug affairs. In January 1980 his body was found dead with a bullet in his head. Thirty four years later, for the first time ever, the ten sides he released at Chess in the late 50's/early 60's are back, all together, along with an alternate take of the amazing " My babys Got Soul", a song which was so ahead of his time, and became a prelude to what then was called soul music.
