Wheel, The
The Wheel (180 Gr Black)
Avram Brown, professionally known as The Wheel, is a Portland, Oregon-based recording artist and producer. Brown's earliest musical inspiration was his parents 60s- and 70s-heavy record collection. With folk music roots that ran deep, poetry and songwriting came early in life, but soon gave way to a fascination with improvised psychedelic rock, jazz, experimental, devotional and avant-garde music. Combining his melodic vocal-driven song-craft with kaleidoscopic production and guitar textures, The Wheel spins open an interdimensional portal that weaves indie folk-rock into psychedelic dreamscapes on his debut self-titled album releasing in early 2024. The Wheel and Raymond Richards (Local Natives, LCD Soundsystem) co-produced the record, which features contributions from violist/arranger Kyleen King (Brandi Carlile, The Decemberists), recording engineer Larry Crane (Elliot Smith), and the late great Ralph Carney (Tom Waits, The B-52s) on baritone saxophone and bass clarinet. This LP is pressed on 180 gram black vinyl.
