Bill Wence grew up in Salinas, California in the 50s and started playing piano in his early teens, influenced by early Rock and Country acts. He met Gene Vincent and Jerry Lee Lewis at 15 and started playing piano with Bobby Bare at 16. He played music from Los Angeles to Anchorage in the 60s, eventually working in Radio and TV for the Midnight Sun Broadcasting Company in 67, bringing Charlie Rich, Ernest Tubb, Bobby Bare and other acts to Juneau and promoting their shows. Moving to Nashville in the early 70s, he had over a dozen Billboard singles on the Country charts in the late 70s/early 80s as an artist and a writer. Bill toured with Tom T. Hall, Bobby Bare, Slim Whitman and others playing piano for thousands of shows and in 1980 started Bill Wence Promotions, working with radio promoting Wanda Jackson, Johnny Rivers, Collin Raye, Jerry Jeff Walker, and a host of other acts for the past 30 years. Hes still works selected dates with Wanda Jackson and Bobby Bare.
