It comes as a genuine surprise that Wasted Years hail from Cologne rather than Portland or Olympia. The American punk and emo influencesevoking bands like RVIVR, Alkaline Trio, or Hot Water Musicare immediately apparent upon listening to their debut album, *Restless*. Do we really need more emo-punk bands with a 90s vibe? If they sound like Wasted Years: absolutely.
