Vilnir
Elva
VILNIR is a musical project by Michael Schnoor and Raphaela Aschenbrenner that blends Nordic folk and fantasy elements using instruments like the hurdy-gurdy, nyckelharpa, and drums to tell imaginative stories. Their concept album ELVA portrays a tragic, mystical tale from the far North, subtly addressing themes of autism without naming them directly. The story follows a boy who, set apart by his unusual behavior, retreats into his own world and forms a mysterious friendship with a being named Elvaleading to increasing strangeness and a dramatic, fatal ending typical of Nordic myths. The duo draws on extensive artistic experience to create emotionally rich and atmospheric music.
