Pearls Before Swine- 25 Yerars Of Sireena Records
A lovingly curated compilation featuring songs from 25 years of Sireena Records is being released as a double CD to celebrate the indie label's anniversary! Twenty-five years ago, Lothar Gärtner and Tom Redecker founded Sireena Records with the goal of bringing musical treasures to CD for the first time. The label's first release was a compilation from Tom's band Electric Family, followed by nearly 400 successful releases across almost every genre, including artists such as Ougenweide, Rainer Baumann, Bad News Reunion, Zoff, Shiny Gnomes, and hundreds more. After Lothar Gärtner's passing in 2005, Tom continued the label alone until Bernd Paulat joined in 2008. Sireena Records increasingly licensed recordings from major labels, acquired entire catalogues from labels like Sky Records and No Fun Records, and released classics on CD and vinyl from bands such as Yes, Atomic Rooster, Chic, Tubes, Gillan, Ramones, Renaissance, and Soft Machine. Limited split singles and collector's editions firmly established the label within the music collector scene. The label also embraced new bands, reaching the German sales charts in 2019 with Jini Meyer (formerly of Luxuslärm). The compilation Pearls Before Swine 25 Years Sireena Records was compiled by friends, supporters, and journalists, and features 31 tracks across a double CD.
