Live Im Star-club
Everyone knows: In Hamburg, the nights are long, exciting and varied. That was already in the age of Hans Albers, that has not changed until today. But sometimes the nights are a bit longer and more exciting. Whenever the famous spark between musicians and audiences ignites during a special music event. On February 8, 1980, the legendary STAR CLUB was shaken by a heavy musical explosion. HORST FASCHER, whose initiative turned the STAR-CLUB into a first-class rock site after eight years of deep sleep, together with the Hanseatic noble rocker VOLKER SPIELBERG, performed a top-class concert in which the sparks only sparked. ROCK'N'ROLL JUBILEE REVIVAL was the name of the Friday night event, in which the great English rock and beat bards of the 60s celebrated their return to Hamburg. Musicians and singers, who once in the STAR-CLUB of the sixties, at that time still in the heart of St. Pauli, made sure that the emergency had an end and the time of smalltown music was finally over. Now they rocked again. The call of Fascher was followed by noble rockers TONY SHERIDAN, CLIFF BENNETT, CHRIS ANDREWS, DAVID GARRICK, P.J. PROBY, JUTTA WEINHOLD, THE RATTLES and many others. The musical accompaniment for the stars was the Hamburg all-star ensemble ROCK CIRCUS under the direction of HERBERT HILDEBRANDT with i.a. DICKY TARRACH, PETER HESSLEIN, ADRIAN ASKEW, DIETER HORNS and RICK LEE. What a great collection of rock bands gathered that evening ?! Until the early morning hours, the musicians gave each other the instruments in the hands, a frenetically celebrating audience did the rest. It was indeed a big party, which was released in 1981 on a long-canceled double LP. Sireena Records is proud to release this event on CD for the very first time. Another piece of German music history, which is now preserved for posterity.
