King Size Dub: Hamburg
To mark its 30th anniversary, the Hamburg dub label Echo Beach is treating itself to a multidimensional portrait of its hometown, Hamburg. Musically, the label has already toured the world, releasing dub sets from the UK, South Africa, New Zealand, New York, Jamaica, and Germany. King Size Dub - Hamburg is the first album compilation dedicated exclusively to dub music from Hamburg. Even when the label first entered the scene with a compilation of UK dub, there was a vibrant dub scene in Hamburg, with sound veterans like Silly Walks and Dub Me Ruff, projects around producer Matthias Arfmann, and bands like Dub Division and Di Iries. Over the decades, this scene blossomed just as wildly as the Echo Beach label outside of Germany, with plenty of overlap and crossover. Now the time for the harvest has come: For the vinyl version, the first dub label in town has teamed up with the best record store in town, not just for dub heads, and has pressed a single record full of versions, specials and exclusives from the Hamburg studios.
