Vancouver/zatokrev
Split
two major bands of the swiss hardcore/metal scene join their strength to release this split. ZATOKREV hail from Basel, they released their debut album in 2004 and a follow up (the way impressive "Bury The Ashes") in the beginning of 2007. The two tracks included on this split were recorded during those sessions. The songs are their most direct and punishing to this date, but with their trademark, that heavy, dark and unhealthy metal. The second half of this split welcomes the debut for Get A Life! Records from VANCOUVER, a band from Yverdon, born from the warm ashes of Unfold (Division Records). Started as a side project, VANCOUVER quickly morphed into a band in itself with the arrival of Impure Wilhelmina and Iscariote members. They released an album in 2004, "The Moment". The two tracks on this split were recorded in their practice space (as well as a third one, released on a split seven inch with the Austrian band Fresnel), and display a band that has taken time to ripen and deepen their approach. The result is a good balance between a wall of sound and and more laid back and calm moments, for an optimal contrast. A band that can easily be compared with the likes of Cult Of Luna, Breach, or Will Haven.
