Ukulele Dub Society

Ukulism

The "Ukulele Dub Society" is a society led by Pit Baumgartner. The members of the fellowship operate between anonymity, solicitousness and roadhouses; always in search of the small leak sinking the great ship. As made for it: the Ukulele! Somehow people smile at it, somehow cute, but at "ukulism" somehow funky, cool and roovy; definitely the leading part. Amazingly cool, how the Ukulele sounds together with dub-experienced other instruments, creating a solid and laid-back atmosphere: loungy and amusing kitsch ("I Cool", "Much too sweet"). Even classics like "Real Mother For Ya" (Johnny Guitar Watson) or "Inca Roads" (Frank Zappa) succumb to the uke's elastic charm. Ellie Goulding's "Burn" in the tradition of an "Instrumental Cover Orchestra" from the 70ies without being overblown, and the raised eyebrows you got at panpipe instrumentals the uke transforms into laugh lines.
