Trypt Up, The
Wide-eyed & Headless
Packed with Angst, rawness & energy while the beat just keeps pounding your brain relentlessly! Colin from the band writes... At the time it was exciting, we were all self-taught, only wanted to use vintage equipment, were quickly supported by the New Untouchables crowd and Detour loved our first raw punkier demo, was a buzz recording at Toe Rag, gigging in Europe, Paul Raymond taking us under his wing, The Action supporting us(!), getting banned by the local indie events organisers, the usual really. I guess we quickly evolved from classic 'Pebbles' type US garage-punk to a heavier sounding UK mod-rock sound too. I guess a lot of this was down to Giles switching from Vox Continental keyboards to Hammond/Leslie set-ups. It was fun while it lasted.
