Taraneh
New Age Prayer
NYC-based Iranian-American artist Taraneh's third overall album - is a rock-based multi-genre odyssey and exploration into themes of power, advancement, and ascension: a testament to Taraneh's evolving sonic profile as she develops, refines, and adventures into a sound uniquely her own. Featuring a series of "sister tracks" which stand as sonic diptychs, mirroring styles from grunge and industrial to electronic, disco, and dream pop ballads, Taraneh's intimate and vulnerable songwriting and distinct voice coupled with the novel production styles of her and her co-producer James Duncan offers a cohesive thread through a story of and journey to transcendence. Executive produced by King Woman (Kris Esfandiari). His ear for melodic complexity and refinement advances and elevates the progressions into captivating arrangements that jump and swell gracefully. Featuring friends and collaborators Evanora Unlimited, LUCY (Cooper B. Handy), and Ivy Knight (in order of appearance), "New Age Prayer" was recorded and engineered by Grant Lepping at Flux Studios in New York's East Village. It is an incantation of organized chaos, a trance-like meditation -- a true prayer for the new age.
