Let The Song Sell Itself (turquoise)
With the release of their discography collection Constant Frantic Motion in 2018, a joint release between Pirates Press Records and Simba Records, fans could be forgiven for thinking the book was being closed on Southern California's Northern Soul-influenced combo Suedehead. And yet, glimmers of hope persisted. A surprise livestream here. A fond reminiscence on social media there. Could it be that we hadn't heard the last of the band? In 2026, we are thrilled to say, unequivocally, that we had not! Because Let the Song Sell Itself is on its way to those who kept faith all these years, featuring two BRAND NEW original songs from Suedehead. Originally formed as a loose soul-oriented side project by singer, songwriter, and producer Davey Warsop (Sharp/Shock, Beat Union, Not), when no less a punk rock legend than Mike Ness of Social Distortion heard the demos and asked the band personally to go on tour, it was well and truly time to stop mucking about! Recruiting an all-star band featuring seasoned players with a diverse and accomplished pedigree ranging from West Coast ska & reggae legends Hepcat & The Aggrolites to deathrock pioneers TSOL, the common denominator that brought this ragtag group together was that everyone could play the hell out of these songs!
