Stompin' Souls
And It's Looking A Lot Like Nothing
Sublime, epic, intoxicating: Swedish neo-garage bands debut. Once again, a group of Swedes pack their bags full of great melodies and fantastic songs and head out into the world to conquer hearts. This time: The Stompin Souls. Musically, the band (consisting of Misters Carlsson, Bergqvist, Nilsson, Peterz and Reinert) has one foot solidly in the garage sounds of the 60s while the other is planted in the here and now. Combine these and you have a rousing mixture of sublime melodies and epic moments. The Stompin Souls are also not ashamed of their Swedish roots à la The (International) Noise Conspiracy or The Soundtrack of Our Lives. Another strong point of the band can be found in their quieter moments, for example in the bombastic, Ennio Morricone-esque song "Anothers Heart", or in the piano ballad "Like A Scar".
