Death Metal as Death Metal can be! With "Frozen Halls," Bremen-based death metallers SOUL GRINDER present their third full-length album - a true heavyweight. The band has established itself as a fixture in German death metal in recent years, not least through countless club and festival shows, and has been more than just an insider tip since their previous album. With their current fulllength album, the trio continues exactly where they left off with "Anthems From The Abyss": uncompromising death metal, from blast-speed attacks to groovy steamrollers and mystical hymns. Thematically, Frozen Hall is largely about fictional horror stories ala H.P. Lovecraft, dealing with darkness, fears, nightmares, and death. But societal, causal themes such as self-reflection on one's own existence or the cruelty of human nature can also be found in the lyrics. For the song "Malevolent Reality," they also enlisted the help of ASENBLUT frontman Tetzel. But even without this prominent support, "Frozen Halls" is undoubtedly a milestone in the band's history and a true feast for the ears of all fans of the genre!
