DEATH TO THE DICTATOR is the fiery second album by the Berlin trio, emerging from the ashes of the punk band Grow Grow. Its explosive blend of anti-corporate punk, dystopian indie, (post-)hardcore, and post-punk is a thoroughly compelling album. The three protagonists create a sound whose carefully considered words and finely observed circumstances unleash a hurricane of emotionally charged outrage. Screamed rage, fueled by a desire for systematic change, is underscored by gruff, noisy passages that gain colossal relevance through the melodic and measured songwriting. All of this is reminiscent of bands like Turbostaat, Oma Hans, Hot Snakes, Meat Wave, and Pissed Jeans, but is so much more.
