Sahm, Doug
Return Of Wayne Douglas
Doug Sahms country music credentials got started when he was just twelve years old, when he sat on Hank Williams knee at Austins Skyline Club, well before his Sir Douglas Quintet heyday. Dougs special brand of Texas music incorporated everything, of course, over a forty-five year career, but in what became his last studio album, he returned to those country roots, reinventing some Doug classics, bringing out what he would call "the real old Texas me." The Return of Wayne Douglas came out after Doug passed in 1999, and it quickly became a rarity, now long out of print. SteadyBoy Records is proud to make this Texas classic available again, and this time, its vinyl! Thats how most of Dougs records came out in the first place, and weve rounded up Dougs artist pal Kerry Awn to create a groovy new Austin-tatious image, just right for a full-blown album cover.
